Kefeta Project Launches Business Competition for Ethiopian Youth
Ethiopia’s Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) and NICE Innovation Incubation Center, funded by USAID, are joining forces to launch a business competition in 17 cities across Ethiopia.
The Kefeta Project Business Incubation Program will be offered to 85 selected startups in the digital service, textile, leather, and agri-tech sectors. The program will provide end-to-end business development support, including selection, due diligence, and hands-on assistance in establishing fully functional enterprises that create employment opportunities.

Aiming to improve the reach and quality of Agent distribution networks in Ethiopia, the UN Capital Development Fund (UNCDF), with support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, has launched the Cash-in/Cash-Out (CICO) Project.
The project, powered by over a million dollars of support from the Gates Foundation, was kicked off today, April 27, 2023, in Addis Ababa.

The state-owned Chemical Industry Corporation awarded management and administration consultancy service contract of the coal phosphate fertilizer complex project to Addis Ababa University's Technology Institute, Ethiopian Press Agency reported.
Speaking at the agreement signing ceremony on Monday, at Addis Ababa Hilton, The Corporation's Acting Director General Mekonnen Zergaw said, the execution of mega projects by indigenous contractors and consultants greatly contributes to building the nation's technology capacity and development, particularly in areas such as citizens' capacity building and promoting technology transfer.
Addis Ababa University's Academic Vice-President Dr. Jyissu Omer on his part said, “ The AAU is ready to implement the new consultancy service contract agreement responsibly.”
