Ethiopian AgriTech Start-Up Hello Erf Named Finalist in Global Competition with $1 Million Prize

Ethiopian agritech startup Hello Erf has been named a finalist in a global competition that recognizes innovative solutions with a $1 million Grand Prize.

Hello Erf, which connects smallholder farmers with mechanization service providers, will compete against 24 other startups from 13 countries in the Milken-Motsepe Prize in AgriTech competition.

The Tokyo-based venture capital firm Inclusion Japan (ICJ) in partnership with the early-stage startup investor Kazana Fund, is set to fund startups in Ethiopia allocating $100 million.

The Ethiopian Intellectual Property Authority (EIPA) has developed an Intellectual Property (IP) Marketplace to facilitate the commercialization of granted inventions by making detailed information about the inventions and contact details of owners available to the general public on the web.

The IP Platform provides a centralized and easily accessible place to list patents and inventions that are available for licensing, with a voluntary listing of patents and patent applications.
