Shortlist, a talent advisory firm bridging the gap between African talent and startups, social ventures, and mission-driven organizations, announced the launch of the Africa Climate Careers Network (ACCN), a resource to mobilize talent for the green economy and help professionals launch climate careers.

Afriwork (Freelance Ethiopia), the popular Telegram-based job portal, is expanding its services to Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. The expansion aims to provide Freelance Ethiopia’s cost-effective HR solutions to a wider audience, specifically catering to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in these regions.

RIDE, a leading ride-hailing firm, has announced a strategic partnership with Wingu Africa, a data center provider in East Africa. The partnership, signed yesterday May 15, 2023, aims to increase the scope, quality, and reliability of RIDE’s services, ensuring a seamless experience for its users.

In addition to the transportation technology services provided by RIDE, the company is focusing on new ventures. Two Ethiopian startups, Arifpay Financial Technologies, and Omishtu-Joy AgTech Engineering, have been named finalists for the 2023 East Africa Com Awards.

Raxio Data Centers Raises up to $170m Sustainability-Linked Debt Facility to Accelerate Digital Transformation in Africa

Raxio Data Centers, an African data center operator with a presence in Ethiopia, has announced that it has secured a sustainability-linked debt facility of up to $170 million to finance its data center development and expansion plans in Africa.

The financing package includes $110 million from Proparco and the Emerging Africa Infrastructure Fund (EAIF), which are both development finance institutions with a joint objective of contributing to the development of digital infrastructure in Africa.
