Master the Meta Ads Learning Phase to Maximize Your Ad Conversions
Have you heard of Meta’s Learning Phase? In this video, Associate Director of Paid Media, Jenna Long, dives into what the learning phase is and gives you all the expert guidance you need to get out of it while making the most of your budget.
(00:30) Once you’re out of the learning phase, you need to just leave your ad alone and let it run. If you make significant edits, your ad will be sent right back into the learning phase.
(00:45) Significant edits to your ad that you should avoid making include:
– Any changes to your targeting
– Any changes to your ad creative
– Any changes to your optimization event
(01:10) Why should you avoid the learning phase? If you end up back in the learning phase, the data collection process will have to start over, meaning that your ad is not fully optimized. so your ad performance won’t be as strong.
(01:30) We do suggest making changes to your ads on a monthly basis to make sure you’re continuing to optimize. We’re suggesting you make strategic ad refreshes that involve new creative and ad copy variants. However, the timing should be strategic depending on your budget, ad performance and data.
(01:45) Best Practices
1. Avoid making frequent edits – Focus on making strategic, regular changes that will have a bigger impact on your ads
2. Condensing – Streamline your ad set volume down to only a couple of tests at a time
3. Pay attention to your settings – Double check that your ad budget and conversion event will allow you to achieve 50 conversions within 7 days to exit the learning phase, otherwise you’ll want to add a microconversion.
