Gebeya, the brainchild of CODERS4AFRICA, aims to provide tech professionals in Africa with the training they need to advance in their careers and become a part of the growing tech industry on the continent. In addition to the training, Gebeya participants will be aided in being paired with employers in the tech industry. The word Gebeya means “market” in the national Ethiopian language Amharic. Aligned with its namesake, Gebeya creates a new type of employee market, linking highly trained tech professionals with the employers who seek them.
