Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed delivered a speech marking the transition of leadership in Tigray’s interim administration. During the farewell ceremony for outgoing interim president Getachew Reda, PM Abiy acknowledged Getachew’s contributions over the past two years, particularly in maintaining relative peace following the Pretoria Agreement.
The Prime Minister also welcomed Lieutenant General Tadesse Worede as the new interim president. General Tadesse, who previously served as deputy administrator, has been entrusted with leading the region through this critical phase of transition.
